I have been around network marketing for the better part of my life.  My parents were in the network marketing business. They built quite a successful business and it was all done by building relationships first.  In today’s world it is a little more difficult to do network marketing the old style way.  The old school way is good and still should be used but with the global internet community there is so many new and innovative ways to succeed.

The first thing to do is to get focused on your day to day tasks.  Stop thinking about getting rich quick; none of that thinking about getting just four more in your down line etc.  Remember you want to build long and lasting relationships.  You can achieve this  by helping others reach their goals. You will want to learn for yourself all the important tools and materials out there about your business and about what software is out there to help your mlm reach its full potential.  Use your own circumstances as a coaching tool.  Give details your struggles and what you had to do to overcome them.  Be assertive, free and open with your advice.

Second, while the time spent away from home prospecting and trying to generate leads are going to be a thing of the past you can never forget that this is going to be work. You can’t take the “people” aspect out of an of an MLM business.
