I have been around network marketing for the better part of my life.  My parents were in the network marketing business. They built quite a successful business and it was all done by building relationships first.  In today’s world it is a little more difficult to do network marketing the old style way.  The old school way is good and still should be used but with the global internet community there is so many new and innovative ways to succeed.

The first thing to do is to get focused on your day to day tasks.  Stop thinking about getting rich quick; none of that thinking about getting just four more in your down line etc.  Remember you want to build long and lasting relationships.  You can achieve this  by helping others reach their goals. Second, while the time spent away from home prospecting and trying to generate leads are going to be a thing of the past you can never forget that this is going to be work. You can’t take the “people” aspect out of an of an MLM business. You will need to spend time getting in contact with and talking to your leads over the internet, and on the phone.  You will need to work generating leads with however you have decided to market yourself online.  You pick your pace and you pick your style and be confident in what you do. Focus and hone in on what ever method you choose. Third learn how to use the Internet.  There are automated systems out there that can help you dominate the web and funnel more leads than you thought possible into your business.  Use the web to meet with individuals with sites such as linked in, facebook, my space and twitter and other social networks. Setup a blog and start writing about your business. Something that is even more powerful is be sure to tell personal stories. Write articles and post them to all relevant article directories and other sources. There are tools to make this quick and easy. Set up a sales funnel that will allow you to introduce your affiliate web sites with training material and tools as well as your main business opportunity, in doing so you have two chances to generate leads multiplied by however many articles of information you have produced.  Remember the more articles and information that you have out there the more sources you have pointing back to your main web site.

Can you make money with an MLM Network Marketing Opportunity? The first thing I have to say about that is, yes but it isn’t easy.  Anybody that tells you any different is blowing smoke up your you know what! You can quickly become disillusioned and end up saying the heck with it. Or as I heard a quote, “I am about to commit network marketing suicide;” in other words, to be fed up and done with the whole industry all together. This is why it is important to understand yourself enough to know what you want and to be able to find out what fits you. Take the time and research the company you are in or thinking of joining carefully before committing. Let me first touch on the network marketing opportunity. If the company you might be looking at is new or “on the ground floor” it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best thing to get into. If a company has been around for awhile it could mean they have stood the test of time and their worth looking at also.

Check the reputation of not only the company but the products as well. When you make your initial investment you should know what you are getting into and not just be driven by emotion. I will say there are certain methods in doing this properly, but with the proper training you can make great connections with any one of these outlets. There are also methods like blogging, article and video marketing, just to name a few. One way or the other you need to get out there and make yourself known and provide value to others.

Once you start to develop leads and start recruiting people into your MLM opportunity you need to spend time with them. This will help you to create a solid foundation of qualified people. When people feel they have support and that their up-line is concerned about their success and growth, they will stay motivated and continue moving forward.

Starting out in my MLM business it didn’t take too long to understand I was not going to build a massive MLM downline using old-school methods. I never intended on annoying my friends and family about my opportunity from the start. I knew the little ol’ list of friends and family was a waste of my time. I had a bigger vision than that anyway. First off, the internet was the obvious choice in marketing my business. Number two I was very tight on funds. No way was I going to do pay-per-click even if I could afford it.

Soon I found lots of various methods of building a MLM Downline on the Internet it made my head spin. After months of  bouncing around with different methods and I finally found out how to combine blogging, article marketing and search engine optimization techniques, oh yah and video marketing. I know it’s a mouthful and it is a lot of work, but I had more time than money. The great thing is all the bouncing around I did with different methods ended up being the stepping  After that I knew I had to learn all the various ways of getting my website ranked so that people could see me. So, nothing else mattered after I locked down and understood the principles and methods of driving traffic to my blog. I will quickly list them: relevancy, popularity, original content and social media outlets. Pretty much wherever you can get links back to your blog. Then there are methods that drive the traffic your way. There is Article marketing, video marketing, social media, social bookmarking, press releases, and even offline strategies.

I can’t tell you how critical it is in the network marketing business to bring value to people. Writing articles are wonderful and probably one the most effective way of building a MLM downline on the web. You can scatter your articles with rather inexpensive tools and are used to rank your blog or your youtube videos higher up in the search engines. There are also tools that submit your videos and articles to a number of places and also help rank your blog so more people can see it. Blogging may not be for you. It can be a great way to attract more people into your mlm downline.

I just wanted to give a good starting point for you to be familiar with what is available to you on the web and maybe give you with a good place to start.
